Clicking on the piano’s keys generates a HyperCard script that will play back the notes in the voice, tempo, and note duration that you have selected. Voices are selected from the Voice button. The only restrictions as to when these characteristics may be changed concern the triplet modifier. Once the first triplet note has been entered, the remaining two notes of that triplet must be entered before changing the note’s tempo, duration, or modifier.
To insert a rest into the script, either click on any key button while holding down the key or choose Silence from the pop-up menu in the Voice button. Rests are indicated in the script by an "R" in place of the note. If the Silence voice is active, the notes will be displayed conventionally ( as if any other voice had been chosen ), and the first note of each rest will start on a new line when the voice changes to Silence.
The text of the resulting script may be further edited to correct errors or to duplicate sections more conveniently.
